For dogs over 100 lbs add 1/2 cup per additional 10 lbs.
Divide the total per day by the total number of times you feed your puppy per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Every puppy is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size and activity level. Please use the information in the chart as an initial recommendation only and adjust when needed.
Dry and wet food in combination will help increase the level of water in your dog’s diet. If feeding with wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/2 cup for every 6 oz of wet food.
Good nutrition for my pups –
I have 2 Pug puppies (16 weeks) and they’ve been on Merrick since I brought them home at 8 weeks. I’ve done a comparison of dry dog foods and settled on Merrick for the protein content. The pups love the food and I do supplement each meal with a little fruit/veggie in their bowls. My objective is to give these two pups a quality brand with good ingredients. Merrick fits the bill!
Would recommend –
Up to date on good ingredients for the pup. My puppy likes the food. Hopefully get her started with foods she needs to grow.
Great ingredients, pup loves it. –
Has great ingredients, made in the US, and isn’t grain free (lots of news going around about this). My pup loves it. I top it off with some wet food mixed in and she licks her bowl clean. She is a very lively, healthy 10 pounder with a nice looking coat. Another plus is the kibble size is incredibly small, easy for smaller puppies to crunch.
