Transition Instructions
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
Darkwinggsd –
I switched my 2 shepherds to the Royal Canin GS and they love it. My younger one was always finicky when it came to her food and tire of it (forcing me to add something to entice her) sometimes skipping meals. Since the switch she can’t wait to get to her bowl and devour it. And their poops are much smaller and not as stinky as with other foods prior. I highly recommend you give it a try if you have issues with your current food. They make food for several different breeds. It’s a bit more costly than other brands but for my girls it’s been worth it.
